Latin 323: Tacitus

This Fall 2013 advanced Latin seminar explored the traditional tools of Classics (book reviews, article databases, prosopographical concordances) and incorporated new digital humanities tools as well for literary and spatial analysis. The goal was to look at the genre of historiography as well as the politics of the early Roman Empire from different perspectives. Students also created their own spatial narratives of a book of the Annales, contributing to a collaborative course project that used a newly developed W&L mapping application.  This course was taught by Professor Rebecca Benefiel of the Department of Classics.
